Description of key information

In an ASTM D93 guideline studies, the flash-point of the substance was determined to be >100ºC.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The flashpoint was determined using a Pensky-Martens Closed Tester up to a temperature of 100°C. The Test Article (approximately 10 g) was heated at a slow constant rate with continual stirring. A small flame was directed into the cup at regular intervals with simultaneous interruption of stirring. The flashpoint is determined as the lowest temperature at which application of the test flame causes the vapour from the Test Article above the sample to ignite. The Flashpoint was determined to be greater than 100ºC.
