Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No in vivo bioaccumulation data are available. The physico-chemical properties of the substance and its ready biodegradability indicate that bioaccumulation in aquatic species is unlikely.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The provision for bioaccumulation in aquatic species testing is contained within Column 1 of Annex IX. Column 2 of this Annex, describing the Specific Rules for Adaptation from Column 1, states the study need not be conducted if:

"-the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation...and/or a low potential to cross biological membranes, or

- direct and indirect exposure of the aquatic compartment is unlikely."

The substance has a very low solubility in water (see IUCLID Section 4.8), is readily biodegradable (see IUCLID Section 5.2.1), and has a high molecular weight (see IUCLID Section 1.1). Consequently, it is concluded the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation and, in accordance with the Standard Information Requirements laid down by REACH (Annexes VII to X), in vivo bioaccumulation testing need not be conducted.
