Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Three toxicity studies with micro-organisms are available with reliability 1,2 and 3. The lowest toxicity value within this category was observed in the study conducted with N-C12-14-alkyltrimethylenediamines (CAS No. 90640-43-0) (Noack, 2008, reliability 1). This study is selected as key study.

This respiration Inhibition Test with activated sludge was performed with the test item N-C12 -14 -alkyltrimethylenediamines (CAS No. 90640 -43 -0) according to OECD TG 209 (Noack, 2008). The test system used activated sludge of the municipal treatment plant of D-31157 Sarstedt. The test was performed under static conditions with nominal concentrations in the range of 3.2 - 100 mg/L. The respiration rates of control, reference and test item concentrations were measured after a contact time of three hours, and the inhibitory effects of the test and reference concentrations were determined in comparison to the control respiration rates. The inhibition ranged from -5 to 95 %. The EC50 was 20.5 mg/L (C.I. 95% 18.4 -22.5) calculated via sigmoidal dose-response analysis.
