Additional information

The determination of 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, di-C16-18-alkyl esters (CAS 90193-76-3) toxicity to freshwater algae was investigated in a study by Migchielsen (2010). The test was conducted according to OECD Guideline no. 201 (2006): “Freshwater algae and Cyanobacteria, Growth Inhibition Test”, under GLP conditions. After 72 hours exposure of to the test substance, no effects on biomass or growth rate of Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata were observed. Due to the insoluble nature of 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, di-C16-18-alkyl esters, measured concentrations were below the detection limits of the analytical method (0.01 mg/L). However, as the Water-Accomodated Fraction (WAF) method used in the test achieves the maximum dissolved concentration, it can be assumed that no toxicity of 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, di-C16-18-alkyl esters (CAS 90193-76-3) will occur within the range of water solubility.
