Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed
Conclusions:
The test compound Acid yellow 3 showed -44% DOC removal suggesting that it is not biodegradable under the mentioned test conditions.
Executive summary:
Short term aerobic biodegradation study was conducted for the test material Acid yellow 3.

Readily water-soluble dyestuff acid yellow 3 was subjected to modification of the OECD Guideline 302B of the static test method. 100 mg/L dyestuff was tested with 0.5 mg/L activated sludge for inherent biodegradtion for upto 42 days. The feeding used for inoculums was 100 mg/L yeast extract every week.

Extinction at absorption maximum and DOC (dissolved organic carbon) were the parameters included in the study.

The test compound Acid yellow 3 showed -44% DOC removal suggesting that it is not biodegradable under the mentioned test conditions.
