Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Partitioning of substances into the different environmental compartments depends mainly on their physico-chemical properties. Since the water solubility of FeNaEDDHA is high (0.0032 mg/L) and the log Pow value low (< -4.2), the substance is expected to mainly distribute to the water phase. FeNaEDDHA is not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria. Abiotic hydrolysis is not relevant, since no hydrolysable groups are present. However, the test substance is subject to photolytical degradation. The half-life time for phototransformation of a suitable source substance (FeEDDHMANa) at 25 ±3 °C is determined to be 40.66 -35.4 hours at a light intensity of 4.86E20 photons/second in the wavelength range of 290 - 500 nm. Thus, FeNaEDDHA is considered to be quickly photodegraded in water and thus not persistent in the environment. NaFeEDDHA is not expected to evaporate into the atmosphere due to the low vapor pressure of < 1E-6 hPa at 20 °C. Based on the low Pow value (-4.2) relevant uptake and bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms is not expected.
