A study was conducted to determine the auto-flammability temperature of the test substance according to EU Method A.16, in compliance with GLP. 8 cm3 (6.1 g) was placed in an oven at 20°C. The temperature/time curve related to the conditions in the center of the sample was recorded while the temperature of the oven was increased to 400°C, at a constant rate of 0.5°C/min. The temperature of the oven at which the sample temperature reaches 400°C by self-heating is called the auto-flammability (self-ignition) temperature. A exotherm reaction of the test substance occurred at a temperature of 150°C and led to 390°C. After this, the temperature of the test substance overshoot the oven temperature that exceeded 400°C at a temperature of 384°C.
