Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with national standard methods
Remarks:
according to Directive VDI 2263, part I
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
reference to same study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: Directive VDI 2263, part I
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
425 s
Test procedure:
other: VDI 2263, part 1
Remarks on result:
other: combustion class BZ 5
Remarks:
bruning with flame or spark generation

Using an ignition source (flame or hot wire, 2 min) at ambient temperature spreading of combustion wasobserved. .

The combustion behaviour of the product at ambient and at elevated temperature is characterized by the burning index BZ 5 (burning with flame of spark generation) and the burning rate had to be determined.

In the preliminary test the burning rate of 425 s/200 mm clearly exceeded the limit of 120 s. Therefore no main test had to be conducted

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The substance has not to be classified as flammable solid according to Regulation (EC) no 1272/2008

Description of key information
