Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

General Information

If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show the label where possible).  Ensure that medical personnel are aware of the material(s) involved, and take precautions to protect themselves.

Description of first aid measures

Inhalation

Remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.  If the affected person is not breathing, apply artificial respiration.  Induce artificial respiration with the the aid of a pocket mask equipped with a one-way valve or other proper respiratory medical device.  Get medical attention.

Skin contact

Wash off with soap and water.  Get medical attention if irritation develpps or persists.

Eye contact

Hold eyelids apart and flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.  Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do.  Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists.

Ingestion

Have victim rinse mouth thoroughly with water.   Never give anything by mouth to a victim who is unconscious or is having convulsions.  If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting.  If vomiting occurs naturally, have victim lean forward to reduce risk of aspiration.  Get medical attention.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed.

Not available.

Fire-fighting measures

General fire hazards

May cause asphyxiation in high concentrations.

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media

Small Fires: Dry chemica, CO2, water spray or regular foam.

Large Fires: Water spray, fog or regular foam.

Unsuitable extinguishing media

Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Dusts at sufficient concentrations can form explosive mixtures with air.

Upon decomposition, this product emits carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and/or low molecular weight hydrocarbons.

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment for firefighters

Wear full protective clothing, including helmet, self-contained positive pressure or pressure demand breathing apparatus, protective clothing and fask mask.

Special firefighter procedures.

Move containers from fire area if you can do it without risk.  Do not scatter spilled material with high pressure water streams.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

For non-emergency personnel

Do not touch or walk through spilled material.

For emergency responders

Keep unnecessary personnel away.  Do not touch damaged containers or spilled materials unless wearing appropriate protective clothing.

Environmental precautions

Prevent further leakage or spilleage if safe to do so.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up

Stop the flow of material, if this is without risk.  Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas.  Cover powder spill with plastic sheet or tarp to minimise spreading.  Sweep up or gather material and place in appropriate container for disposal.  Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust.  Avoid dust formation.

Handling and storage

Control parameters

Occupational exposure limits: No exposure limits noted for the ingredient(s).

Biological limit values: No biological exposure limits noted for the ingredient(s).

Recommended monitoring procedures: Not available.

DNEL: Not available.

PNEC: Not available.

Exposure controls

Appropriate engineering controls

Keep formation of airborne dusts to a minimum.  Use explosion-proof ventilation equipment.  Ventilation should be sufficient to effectively remove and prevent buildup of any dusts or fumes that may be generated during handling or thermal processing.

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment

General information: Keep formation of dusts, particulates and fumes to a minimum.

Eye/face protection: Wear dust googles.

Skin protection: -Hand protection: Use impervious gloves.  Nitrile rubber.  Permeation rate: >480 min.  Thickness: > 0.5 mm.

Latex gloves. Permeation rate: >480 min. Thickness: >0.5mm

Other: Wear appropriate chemical resistant clothing.

Respiratory protection

In the case of repirable dust and/or fumes, use self-contained breathing apparatus.  Use a positive-pressure air-supplied respirator if there is any potential for an uncontrolled release, exposure levels are not known, or any other circumstances where air-purifying respirators may not provide adequate protection.

Thermal hazards: Not availalbe.

Hygiene measures: Use good industrial hygiene practices in handling this material.  Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday.  Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs.

Environmental exposure controls: Not available.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: Strong acids and oxidizing agents

Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions.  High concentration of airborne dust may form explosive mixture with air.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: Not expected to occur.

Conditions to avoid: Do not expose to temperatures above 200°C.

Incompatible materials: Strong acids, alkalies and oxdizing agents.

Hazardous decomposition products: At thermal decomposition temperatures, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

Residual waste: Empty containers or liners may retain some product residues.  This material and its container must be disposed of in a safe manner.

Contaminated packaging: Dispose of as unused product.  Do not re-use empty containers.

EU waste codes: Waste codes should be assigned by the user based on the application for which the product was used.

Disposal mehtod/information: Dispose in accordance with all applicable regulations
