Individual Test Results.

A value of 19.58 mPa.s at 20°C was obtained for the calibration standard, which is within the recommended range of ±5%, and therefore the instrument was deemed suitable for use.

At 20°C, the behaviour of the test substance was found to be Newtonian over the measured shear range of 10 to 500 1/s.

At 40°C, the behaviour of the test substance was found to be Newtonian over the measured shear range of 10 to 500 1/s.

Conclusions:
The viscosity of the substance was 55.9 mPa·s at 20 °C and 19.1 mPa·s at 40°C.
Executive summary:

The viscosity of the test substance was measured at both 20°C and 40°C according to OECD guideline no. 114 (rotational viscometer method) using a Bohlin CS50 controlled stress Rheometer. Determination for both temperatures was done in duplicate. The viscosity of the test substance was 55.9 mPa·s and 19.1 mPa·s at 20°C and 40°C, respectively.

Description of key information

The viscosity of Isopentyl p-methoxycinnamate was 55.9 mPa · s (dynamic).

Additional information

The viscosity of the test substance was measured at both 20°C and 40°C according to OECD114 (rotational viscometer method) using a Bohlin CS50 controlled stress rheometer.

A value of 19.58 mPa x s at 20°C was obtained for the calibration standard, that was within the recommended range of ±5%, and therefore the instrument was deemed suitable for use.

Mean values for the viscosity of the test substance of 55.9 mPa x s (single values: 55.93 mPa x s and 55.79 mPa x s) and 19.1 mPa x s (single values: 19.20 mPa x s and 19.05 mPa x s) were obtained at 20°C and 40°C, respectively.

The behaviour of the test substance at both 20°C and 40°C was found to be Newtonian over the measured shear range of 10 to 500 1/s.
