Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Category members are gases and if released in the environment will partition predominantly to the atmosphere. Category members are not considered to be readily biodegradable. They are expected to have low potential for bioaccumulation and adsorption to soil and sediment based on their lower log Kow values ranging from 2.09 to 2.31. Structural analysis of category member molecules indicates that they are not expected to undergo hydrolysis in the environment due to the lack of hydrolyzable functional groups. The physico-chemical properties of category members indicate that if they were released to the atmosphere, they would quickly photooxidise. Category members are not expected to persist in the environment because it has a low potential for adsorption to organic matter, has a low potential for bioaccumulation, and is rapidly degraded in the atmosphere by photooxidation reactions. The latter degradation mechanism will contribute significantly to the fate of category members in the environment because they are gases and preferentially partition to this environmental compartment.
