Description of key information

Based on the QSAR prediction done using the EPI Suite ECOSAR version 1.10, the 72 hours EC50 was estimated to be 156.492 mg/L on algae for substance 2-Naphthalenaminium, 7-hydroxy-8-[(2-methoxyphenyl)azo]-N,N,N-trimethyl-, chloride with growth inhibition effects. Thus based on this value it can be concluded that the substance can be classified as non hazardous as per the criteria of CLP regulation.

Additional information

Based on the QSAR prediction done using the EPI Suite ECOSAR version 1.10, the 72 hours EC50 was estimated to be 156.492 mg/L on algae for substance 2-Naphthalenaminium, 7-hydroxy-8-[(2-methoxyphenyl)azo]-N,N,N-trimethyl-, chloride with growth inhibition effects.

For a similar substance (CAS: 68391-32-2), estimated 96 hr EC50 value of test substance (8-((4-Amino-3-nitrophenyl)azo)-7-hydroxy-2-naphthyl)trimethylammonium chloride on green algae was determined by using the EPI Suite ECOSAR version 1.11

Based on the growth rate of the test animal, the estimated 96 hr EC50 value was found to be 184.723 mg/l.

For a similar substance (CAS: 26381-41-9), based on the QSAR prediction done using the EPI Suite ECOSAR version 1.10, the NOEC was estimated to be 108.41mg/l on Green Algae for substance 8-[(p-aminophenyl)azo]-7-hydroxy-2-naphthyl]trimethylammonium chloride.

Thus based on the above values for target and read across substances, it can be concluded that the substance, 2-Naphthalenaminium, 7-hydroxy-8-[(2-methoxyphenyl)azo]-N,N,N-trimethyl-, chloride, can be classified as non hazardous as per the criteria of CLP regulation.
