Description of key information
The ready biodegradability of 1,1’-(1,1,3-trimethylpropane-1,3-diyl)bis(cyclohexane) was assessed in a modified Sturm test in accordance with the OECD 301B guidelines. The relative biodegradation values calculated from the measurements performed during the test period revealed no biologically relevant biodegradation of the test item (3% and 2%, based on ThCO2). As such, it was concluded that 1,1’-(1,1,3-trimethylpropane-1,3-diyl)bis(cyclohexane) was not readily biodegradable. The test item was found not to inhibit microbial activity.
