Linear regression analysis of log P(T,20) and log v(T,20) using the least squares method yielded an equation of log P(T) = 1.34 × log v(T) + 4.96. The coefficient of correlation (r) was > 0.99. This equation was used to determine log P(T) values for the test substance at elevated temperatures. Linear regression analysis of the log P(T) values and 1/T was performed using a least squares method. The vapor pressure of the test substance at 20°C and 25°C were determined using the vapour pressure regression curve. The equation of the curve was: log P(T) = -3552 ×1/T + 10.48 (r = 0.997, n = 6).

Conclusions:
The vapor pressure of FBSEE diol is 2.3E-02 Pa (1.7E-04 mm Hg) at 20 °C and 3.7E-02 Pa (2.8E-04 mm Hg) at 25 °C as determined by EU Method A.4.
Executive summary:

The vapor pressure of the test substance was determined by the isothermal thermogravimetric effusion method. The weight loss of the sample was measured at three isothermal points between 50 and 70°C. Weight loss rate at each temperature was converted to vapor pressure and entered into linear regression analysis vs. temperature. The resulting equation was log P(T) = -3552 ×1/T + 10.48 (r = 0.997). The test was done according to EU Method A.4 “Vapour pressure” and in accord with GLP guidelines; therefore this study is classified as reliable without restrictions.

Executive summary:

The vapor pressure of FBSEE diol is 1.98E-05 mm Hg at 25 °C according to ASTM E-1719-97. Limited details are available with the report; therefore, the results are considered reliable with restriction.

Description of key information

The vapor pressure of FBSEE diol is 2.3E-02 Pa (1.7E-04 mm Hg) at 20 °C and 3.7E-02 Pa (2.8E-04 mm Hg) at 25 °C (EU Method A.4).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In the key study, the vapor pressure of FBSEE diol was determined by the isothermal thermogravimetric effusion method. The test was done according to EU Method A.4 “Vapour pressure” and in accord with GLP guidelines; therefore this study is classified as reliable without restrictions. In a supporting study, a vapor pressure of FBSEE diol is 1.98E-05 mm Hg at 25 °C according to ASTM E-1719-97. The results are considered reliable with restrictions, however the vapor pressure is extrapolated from measurements taken at ca. 150 - 200 °C. The result are therefore not considered further.
