Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The TLM-EqP modeling has been validated as a suitable method for predicting effect values in sediment and soil organisms. The TLM-EqP predicted effect values for 2,4,4 -trimethylpentene were 184.459 and 35.337 mg/kg soil dw for short-term (28-day LL50) and long-term effects (56-day NOELR), respectively.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 or LC50 for soil macroorganisms:
184.459 mg/kg soil dw
Long-term EC10, LC10 or NOEC for soil macroorganisms:
35.337 mg/kg soil dw

Additional information

This substance is considered to have a Soil Hazard Category 4 classification because no biodegradation was observed during the test and the has an EC50< 1 mg/L. Therefore, we are required to conduct a conduct long-term toxicity tests according to the standard information requirements Annex X (invertebrates and plants), and choose the lowest value for derivation of PNECsoil according to ECHA (2017) Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, chapter R7c: endpoint specific guidance.
