Waiving: No study required as the substance does not possess chemical groups associated with oxidising properties in a molecule.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the oxidising properties study (required in section 7.13) does not need to be conducted, if the substance is incapable of reacting exotermically with compustible materials, for example on the basis of the chemical structure. In case of Bis(2-ethylhexyl) 2,2'-thiobisacetate there are no chemical groups associated with oxidising properties present in a molecule (ester group does not have oxidising properties).

Justification for classification or non-classification

The study was waived because the substance does not possess chemical groups associated with oxidising properties. The statement is conclusive and does not lead to classification either CLP or 67/548/EEC.
