Description of key information
Twenty-four reliable EC10 or NOEC values for chronic zinc toxicity to reproduction of 3 different collembola species (Folsomia candida, Proisotoma minuta and Sinella curviseta) were identified. The reliable NOEC and EC10 values range between 31 mg Zn/kg dw for reproduction of Folsomia candida (Lock et al., 2001) and 1261 mg Zn/kg dw for reproduction of Folsomia candida (Lock et al., 2003). All NOEC and EC10 values are expressed based on total elemental Zn concentrations in soil. All reliable NOEC and EC10 values were taken forward to the derivation of the PNEC according to the statistical extrapolation approach.
