Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In a study, which was in large part equivalent to the methods described in OECD Guideline 401, the LD50 for rats was estimated to be 1866 mg/kg body weight (BASF AG, 1969). During this study, the inhalative acute toxicity was also evaluated, by exposing rats to a vapor generated by 20°C for 8h and to vapor generated by 100°C for 3 and 8 h. The resulting values for lethality were a LC0 of 3.58 mg/l, LC0 of 26.23 and a LC50 of 20.55 mg/l, respectively (BASF AG, 1969). Intraperitoneal injection of mice led to LD50 values of 243 mg/kg body weight (BASF AG, 1969).

Justification for classification or non-classification

Due to the estimated LD50 of 1866 mg/kg bw 2,5,6 -Trimethyl-2 -cyclohexen-1 -on has to be classified harmful.
