Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

After inhalation: Remove from exposure, take exposed person to fresh air.

After skin contact: Wash skin with warm water and treat with protective cream.

After eye contact: Wash out the eye with plenty of clean water .

After ingestion: Drink cc 0.5 l lukewarm water, do not induce vomiting.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: The dust is irritant.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: No information is available.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: water foam

Unsuitable extinguishing  media: CO2

Special hazards arising form the substance or mixture: CO2 + SO2 + NOx , if insufficient air by combustion toxic CO may arise.

Advice for firefighters: insulating self-contained breathing apparatus, respirator wit suitable filter.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Prevent the contact of the substance with glowing articles and prevent the initiating of fire or explosion of CTP dust with air.

Environmental precautions: Prevent the leak of the substance into drainage, water and soil, CTP is water insoluble, heavier than water and sediments as sludge.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning-up: Collection of contaminated dust into a vessel for waste or liquidation in incinerating plant.

Reference to other sections: No information is available.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling: To handle as with flammables, of which the dust with air can be explosive. Electronic installation in spaces of handling with Duslin® P must be in accordance with regulations for explosive environment. Handling with opened fire is forbidden. The empty wrappings from Duslin® P must be rid of substance rests on walls before repairing (cleaning by means of detergents etc.). The empty paper bags to liquidate in incinerating plant of wastes.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: CTP is stored in original multi-layer paper bags or big-bags on pallets or in closed tanks with venting trough dust filter under slight overpressure of nitrogen atmosphere. CTP tends to caking, consequence is proportional to the higher temperature, pressureand storage time.

Maximum storage temperature is 35°C. Storage life in undamaged original packaging is one year under the observation of storage conditions.

Adequate amount and volume of extinguishing technique is needed. Electric installation and lighting must be suitable into explosive space.

Specific end use(s): Duslin® P is a high effective pre-vulcanization inhibitor of rubbers especially of diene compounds with cure system consisting of sulfur and tiazole but mainly sulfenamide accelerators.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters:

Highest exposure limits (NPEL) based on Government Decree of Slovak Republic  No. 355/2006: No limits established for this product.

Exposure controls: Dust mixed with air can be explosive so that prevent of excess dusting, ensure a sufficient ventilation.

a) Eye/face protection: Use suitable protective goggles.

b) Skin protection: Put on suitable protective clothes.

Hand protection: Use suitable protective gloves.

Other:  No information is available.

c) Respiratory protection: Keep the lowest possible level of the dust concentration in air, in case of dusting, use a respirator.

d) Thermal hazards: No information is available.

Environmental exposure controls: Prevent uncontrolled release to environment.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No information is available.

Chemical stability:  It decomposes at temperature around 120°C.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: No dangerous reactions are known.

Conditions to avoid: Chemically stable and non-volatile substance.

Incompatible materials: It shows non-corrosive effects on metals.

Hazardous decomposition products: CO2 + SO2 + NOx , if insufficient air by combustion the toxic CO may arise.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods: This material and/or its container must be disposed of as hazardous waste.

In case of technical uselessness dispose in the garbage incinerating plant or stock-pile of dangerous waste according to official regulations.

Product residues must not be washed away into water source and public drainage.
