Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Vapour pressure (dimethoxy(methyl)vinylsilane): approximately 3000 Pa at 20°C (OECD 104)
Vapour pressure (methylvinylsilanediol): 2.1 Pa at 25°C (QSAR)
Vapour pressure (methanol): 12790 Pa at 20°C (measured)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
3 000 Pa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

Vapour pressure values of approximately 3000 Pa, 5400 Pa, 9200 Pa and 15000 Pa at 20°C, 30°C, 40°C and 50°C, respectively, were determined for the substance using the dynamic method in accordance with OECD Test Guideline 104. The results are considered to be reliable.

In contact with water, the substance hydrolyses rapidly to form methylvinylsilanediol and methanol. The vapour pressure of the silicon-containing hydrolysis product was predicted to be 2.1 Pa at 25°C using a validated QSAR estimation method.

A measured vapour pressure value of 12790 Pa at 20°C is available for methanol (OECD 2004).
