Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

For the purpose of risk assessment, bis(4-tert-butylcyclohexyl) peroxydicarbonate is considered as stable towards hydrolysis.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Based on the measured values of cis/trans-4-tert-butylcyclohexanol it could be confirmed that the concentration of bis-(4-tert-butylcyclohexyl) peroxydicarbonate and/or its breakdown products (analytically not distinguishable) in buffer solutions showed a linear increase over time during the initial 24 h period.

From these data it can be concluded that bis(4-tert-butylcyclohexyl) peroxydicarbonate is poorly soluble (1-10 mg/L after 24 h). No validated method is available to verify the concentration of intact bis(4-tert-butylcyclohexyl) peroxydicarbonate in aqueous solution. The intact peroxide and its potential decomposition products are not distinguishable under the conditions of this study.

For the purpose of risk assessment, the test substance is considered as stable towards hydrolysis.
