Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Executive summary:

A statment on appearance and physical state of this substance has been provided by the registrant. This is considered to be suitable for use as a key study, The test substance, tetraammine palladium (II) nitrate, is an inorganic, colourless, transparent liquid with a faint and ammonia-like odour.

Description of key information

Tetraammine palladium (II) nitrate is only available on the market as an aqueous solution.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
liquid

Additional information

Tetraamminepalladium(II) nitrate is only brought on the market in solution (usually with 6-7% Pd content) because of the explosive properties of the solid form. The solvent can however be separated without affecting the chemical stability of the substance. A theoretical composition of the solid substance is included in the Composition section of the REACH dossier, but physico-chemical endpoints for this substance are completed based on the solution as marketed.

A statment on appearance and physical state of this substance has been provided by the registrant (Alderman 2016). This is considered to be suitable for use as a key study for this endpoint. Tetraammine palladium (II) nitrate is only available on the market as an aqueous solution. The substance is colourless and transparent liquid with ammonia-like odour.
