Description of key information

Photolysis is defined as the cleavage of a chemical bond upon absorption of light energy.
Pure ammonium bromide is a white (i.e. colourless) crystalline substance
This inorganic compound will dissociate in water to the ammonium cation and the bromide anion.
NH4Br -> NH4+ + Br-
Aqueous solutions of ammonium bromide do not exhibit any absorption in the visible light spectrum
As neither pure ammonium bromide nor aqueous solutions of ammonium bromide exhibit any absorption in the visible spectrum of light, photolysis will not take place.
