In contact with the flame of the gas burner, the test substance glowed. After removal of the ignition source, no propagation of combustion of the test substance was observed.

Additional information

The substance was tested for flammablilty of solids, self-heating, and also for pyrophoric properties.

Fully reliable experimental studies, conducted according to recognized UN methods and under GLP, are presented under point 4.13. They are considered as key studies.

Based on experience, no flammable properties are anticipated if contact with water, therefore this study was deemed unnecessary.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 (CLP) criteria:

- the substance did not propagate combustion in the preliminary test, therefore it is NOT classified as a flammable solid;

- no exothermal effect was observed when heating in the Bowes-Cameron test; therefore it is NOT classified as self-heating;

- It did not either ignite spontaneously in any of the replicates during dropping or settling in air, therefore it is NOT classified as a pyrophoric solid.
