Administrative data

First-aid measures

General information: Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product.

· After inhalation:

Supply fresh air.

Seek medical treatment in case of complaints.

· After skin contact:

Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.

If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor.

· After eye contact:

If in eyes: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Protect unharmed eye. Call a doctor immediately.

· After swallowing:

If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious).

Drink plenty of water and provide fresh air. Call for a doctor immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

- Information on extinguishing media:

The product is not flammable. Use fire extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions.

- Special hazards arising from the substance

In case of fire, the following can be released: Hydrogen chloride (HCl)

- Protective equipment for firefighters

Wear fully protective equipment

Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.

- Additional information:

Dispose of fire debris and contaminated fire fighting water in accordance with official regulations.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.

Avoid formation of dust.

- Environmental precautions:

Damp down dust with water spray.

Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Pick up mechanically.

Avoid formation of dust.

Send for recovery or disposal in suitable receptacles.

Use neutralizing agent. Neutralize residues on floor with solid sodium carbonate.

Dispose of the material collected according to regulations.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling

Wear protective clothing.

Prevent formation of dust.

Provide suction extractors if dust is formed.

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed receptacles.

Do not store in metal receptacles.

Do not store together with acids.

Do not store together with alkalis (caustic solutions).

Exposure controls / personal protection

- General protective and hygienic measures:

Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed.

Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing

Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work.

Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.

- Personal protective equipment:

· Respiratory protection: Not necessary if room is well-ventilated.

· Recommended filter device for short term use: Filter P2; Filter FFP2

· Protection of hands:

· Penetration time of glove material

Value for the permeation: Level ≥ 120 min. (EN 374)

The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be

observed.

Stability and reactivity

- Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided:

No decomposition if used and stored according to specifications.

- Possibility of hazardous reactions

Reacts with alkali (lyes). Forms heat.

- Hazardous decomposition products: Nitrogen oxides (NOx) in case of fire

Disposal considerations

- Recommendation:

Hand over to hazardous waste disposer.

Disposal must be made according to official regulations.

· Recommendation for uncleaned packaging:

Empty contaminated packagings thoroughly. They may be recycled after thorough and proper cleaning.

Packagings that may not be cleansed are to be disposed of in the same manner as the product.
