Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The data refer to DL-alpha-tocopheryl acetate a precursor of DL-alpha-tocopherol. The toxicity of DL-Alpha-Tocopheryl acetate towards Daphnia magna was investigated according to OECD Guideline 202 under GLP conditions (Maetzler, 2000). The measured 48h-EC50 was 20.6 mg/l. The study was considered to be the key study.

The acute toxicity study is also for DL-alpha-tocopheryl acetate to D. magna available: Toxicity was investigated in a static test system following German standard DIN 38412, part L11. The 48h EC0 was 500 mg/l and the 48h EC50 was >500 mg/l (BASF AG, 1988). The study was considered to be a supporting study.
