Endpoint:
auto-ignition temperature (liquids)
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
other:
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Endpoint:
auto-ignition temperature (liquids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Study period:
10 January 2018 - 12 January 2018
Reliability:
4 (not assignable)
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The test material is a solid at room temperature. Because its melting point is below 160°C, the UN N.4 Self-heating test does not need to be conducted. It was investigated whether it would be possible to perform the EC A.15 Auto-igntion study with the substance. For this, test item was heated up to 258°C for 1 hour in an oil bath. Efforts were made to pipette the molten substance.
GLP compliance:
yes
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Melting point: 23.9 ± 2°C
Remarks on result:
not determinable
Remarks:
The substance could not be pipetted when molten.
Conclusions:
It is technically not possible to perform the EC A.15 Auto-ignition study because the substance can not be pipetted when molten.
Executive summary:

After test item was heated up to 258°C for 1 hour in an oil bath, it could not be pipetted when molten. From this it was concluded that it is technically not possible to perform the EC A.15 Auto-ignition study.
