Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
vapour pressure
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
vapour pressure testing is not required because the standard boiling point is < 30 ºC, as this substance will have a vapour pressure value above the limit of measurement (i.e. 10E+05 Pa)
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information

Description of key information

Vapour pressure: >100000 Pa at 20°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
100 000 Pa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The substance has a reported standard boiling point of -112°C, therefore, the vapour pressure at standard temperature and pressure will be above the limit of measurement (100 kPa) and a vapour pressure study is therefore not feasible.

In a disregarded study (Bimsner 2000), vapour pressure values of 12600 Pa at 10°C, 19000 Pa at 20°C and 57000 Pa at 50°C were determined for the substance using the dynamic method according to EU Method A.4. However, the method used is only applicable to liquids and solids, the result is therefore considered not relevant to a gaseous substance such as silane.
