Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Hydrolysis of tris(oxiranylmethyl)benzene-1,2,4 -tricarboxylate at about 10 mg a.i./L was studied in the dark at 20, 40 and 50 ºC in sterile aqueous buffered solutions at pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9.

The experiment was conducted in accordance with the EEC directive 92/69, Annex V, Part C, Degradation, C.7 “Hydrolysis as a Function of pH”, December 1992 and

OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, Guideline No. 111, ”Hydrolysis as a Function of pH”, adopted April 2004 and in compliance with the GLP standards.

The OECD Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (as revised in 1997) ENV/MC/CHEM(98)17

Chemikaliengesetz ('Chemicals Act') der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (ChemG), Anhang 1 ('Annex 1'), 2008

Directive 2004/10/EC of(Official Journal No. L 50/44).

Samples were analysed by HPLC (UV/VIS-detector).

The test item is degraded by hydrolysis. The half life of reaction at 20°C were determined to be 101 h at pH 4, 101 h at pH 7 and 7 h at pH 9. From chemical structure and literature reference it was assumed that 1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylic acid is the hydrolysis product.

However, the compound was not clearly identified in solution which might be a consequence of the instability of the metabolite under the test conditions.
