Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Moderately biologically eliminated in the simulation test according to OECD 303A.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The biologically elimination of the test substance in a simulation test according to OECD 303A was calculated to be 45 % (CIBA-GEIGY 1986). Adsorption might be amajor factor for elimination.

No simulation test data on biodegradation in water, soil and sediments are available.  The test substance was found to be not readily biodegradable based on experimental data and QSAR data. In the QSAR predictions degradation products could be reliably identified and evaluated. Based on these results CAS 6683-19-8 is regraded as persistent or very persistent.

As the substance is highly adsorptive and poorly water soluble it can be assumed that the degradation potential in sediment and soil is lower than predicted in the QSAR calculations.
