Results and discussion

Pyrophoric solids
Test procedure:
ignition time on contact with air
Remarks:
Ignition on contact with air refers to either Pyrophoric solids or Pyrophoric liquids depending on physical state (migrated information).
Remarks on result:
no ignition on contact with air (not further specified)
Remarks:
corresponding to 'no' in migrated source record.

Any other information on results incl. tables

The test item burned with a flame when an ignition source (flame or hot wire) was applied at ambient temperature. A propagation of the combustion was observed. A liquefaction of the decomposition products was observed.

The combustion behaviour of the product at ambient temperature is characterized by the combustion number BZ 5 (burning with flame).

Using the flame as ignition source in the preliminary test, the fire extinguished after 3 minutes and 29 seconds and a burning distance of about 55 mm.

A main test was therefore not necessary.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
The test item is not a highly flammable solid in the sense of the European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Method A.10.
Executive summary:

The test substance was examined for its flammability in a study according to EU test method A.10 and DIN guideline 2263. The test substance exhibits a burning number of BZ = 5 according to VDI 2263 and is not a highly flammable solid in the sense of the European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Method A.10 .
