Results and discussion

% Degradation
Parameter:
% degradation (CO2 evolution)
Value:
5
Sampling time:
28 d
Remarks on result:
other: mean biodegradation
Details on results:
The biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) of the test substance in the test media very slowly increased throughout the exposure period. At the end of the 28-day exposure period, the mean biodegradation of the test item amounted to 5 %. Consequently, the test item was found not biodegradable under the test conditions within 28 days because biodegradation was below 10 %.

Any other information on results incl. tables

The percent biodegradation of the test item was calculated based on the theoretical oxygen demand (ThOD) of 1.88 mg O2/mg test item.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Interpretation of results:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed
Conclusions:
The test item was found not biodegradable under the test conditions within 28 days because biodegradation was below 10 %.
Executive summary:

The test item was investigated for its ready biodegradability in a manometric respirometry test over 28 days according to EU Commission Directive 92/69 EEC, C.4 -D (1992) and OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals No. 301 F (1992). The percent biodegradation of the test item was calculated based on the theoretical oxygen demand (ThOD) of 1.88 mg O2/mg test item.

The biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) of the test item in the test media very slowly increased throughout the exposure period. At the end of the 28 -day exposure period, the mean biodegradation of the test substance amounted to 5 %. Consequently, the test item was found not biodegradable under the test conditions within 28 days because biodegradation was below 10 %. No degradation of the test item occurred in the abiotic control under the test conditions within 28 days.
