Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2008
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Comparable to guideline study (EU A.10) with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Principles of method if other than guideline:
flammability of solid substances
Test procedure:
ignition time on contact with air
Remarks:
Ignition on contact with air refers to either Pyrophoric solids or Pyrophoric liquids depending on physical state (migrated information).
Remarks on result:
no ignition on contact with air (not further specified)
Remarks:
corresponding to 'no' in migrated source record.

The tested sample didn’t ignite even after two-minute flame treatment. The tested substance was melting and gradually carbonizing in the place of contact with flame, but there was no spreading on the powder strap. The gas burner was removed after two minutes and the tested substance was neither burning nor smoldering.

Because there was no ignition or incandescence on 200 mm trail, in accordance with the decree it wasn’t necessary to conduct the proper test.

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
The test substance didn’t ignite even after two-minute flame treatment and is therefore considered to be non flammable.
Executive summary:

The flammability of the test substance was tested similar to EU A.10. The test substance did not ignite even after two-minute flame treatment and is therefore not considered to be a flammable solid.
