Additional information

Dimethyl aminopropyl methacrylamide (DMAPMA) is reported to be a pale yellow liquid at 20°C and 1013 hPa with a amine-like odour.

No melting point of Dimethyl aminopropyl methacrylamide (DMAPMA) was detected but a glass transition temperature at -88°C at 1000 hPa (EEC, No. L383 (1992), Differential Scanning Calorimetry).

The boiling point of Dimethyl aminopropyl methacrylamide (DMAPMA) was reported to be 263 °C at 1000 hPa (EEC, No. L383 (1992), Differential Scanning Calorimetry).

The relative density of Dimethyl aminopropyl methacrylamide is reported to be 0.942 at 20 °C (DIN 51757).

In accordance with Annex VII 7.14. Column 2, a study on granulometry does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid and is marketed or used in a non solid or granular form.

The vapour pressure of N-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]methacrylamide was determined according to dynamic method (calulated from a measured vapour pressure curve) to be 0.004 hPa at 20 °C.

The n-Octanol/Water partition coefficient (log Kow) of Dimethyl aminopropyl methacrylamide (DMAPMA) is reported to be logPow: 0.50 at

24 °C and pH 10.6 measured according to OECD 107.

Dimethyl aminopropyl methacrylamide (DMAPMA) is completely miscible (miscrible with water in any ratio).

The flash point of N-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]methacrylamide is reported to be 129 °C (closed cup) according to EU Directive 92/69/EEC,

Official Journal L 383 A 1992, Pensky-Martens method, ASTM D93.

The auto-ignition temperature is recorded to be 240 °C at 1006 hPa according DIN 51794.

According to REACH Regulation (Annex XI, 1.), the study on flammability does not need to be conducted if the available data are sufficient for assessment. For DMAPMA, a test on flash point is available. Pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are not expected based on a consideration of the structure of the substance.

In accordance with column 2 of REACH regulation annex VII, explosive properties testing does not need to be conducted as there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties in the molecule. DMAPMA is non-explosive.

In accordance with column 2 of REACH regulation annex VII, oxidising properties testing does not need to be conducted on the basis of chemical structure.

In accordance with column 1 of REACH regulation annex IX, stability in organic solvents testing is not required as stability of the substance is not considered critical. The test substance has no particular reactivity towards typical solvents and is not used in solution.

In accordance with column 2 of REACH regulation annex IX, dissociation constant testing does not need to be conducted as there are no dissociable groups.

The dynamic viscosity of DMAPMA was reported to be 27.4 mPa.s at 20 °C and 12.1 mPa.s at 40 °C according to OECD 114.
