Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

As direct and indirect exposure to the soil compartment is unlikely, a waiver is proposed for further terrestrial toxicity testing.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A study in monocotyledons and dicotyledons is available with DOWANOL PnB. The substance was not toxic to crop species when applied as a foliar spray at concentrations of 25% or less. However, this study is only used as a supporting study as there are no published guidelines available for this assay and the study was not conducted under GLP. Based on physical and chemical property parameters of PnB, it can be concluded that the ultimate compartment is the aquatic compartment. The risk characterisation shows that the PEC/PNEC ratio for soil is clearly <1. As direct and indirect exposure to the soil compartment is unlikely, a waiver is proposed for further terrestrial toxicity testing.
