The 3h-NOEC: 3h-EC10 and 3h-EC50 are 320, 429 and > 1.000 mg/l respectively in a OECD guideline 209 test with activated sludge under GLP (reliability 1).

A Respiration Inhibition Test with activated sludge according to OECD Guideline No. 209 was carried out with the test item N-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)acrylamide (t-OAA) (batch number:1242736) from 2012-04-12 to 2012-04-13, with the experimental phase on 2012-04-13 atDr.U.Noack-Laboratorien, D-31157Sarstedt.Test system was activated sludge of the municipal treatment plant of D-31137 Hildesheim. The test was carried out under static conditions with the nominal test item concentrations 10 - 32 - 100 - 320 - 1000 mg/L. The respiration rates of the control, reference and test item replicates were measured after a contact time of three hours, and the inhibitory effects of the test and reference item were determined in comparison to the control respiration rates. The mean inhibition of respiration for the test item replicates ranged from -13 % to 38 %.
In order to check the activity of the test system and the test conditions a reference test was carried out with copper (II) sulphate pentahydrate as reference item and the reference toxicity was determined. The EC50-value for the reference item was 81.1 mg/L.

The NOEC of the test item is 320 mg/L. The test item is not toxic at the concentration of 320 mg/L to activated sludge of a municipal sewage treatment plant. The EC10of the test item is 429 mg/L and the EC50> 1000mg/L.
