Description of key information

The Henry's Law Constant of the substance is calculated from the vapour pressure and water solubility to be 0.0202 Pa .m3/mol at 25°C and 0.00965 Pa.m3/mol at the environmental temperature of 12°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

at the temperature of:
12 °C

Additional information

Volatilisation of organic compounds from surface waters is generally estimated by the Henry's law constant. The Henry's law constant for N-(1,1,3,3 -tetramethylbutyl)acrylamide can be calculated from the ratio of the vapour pressure (Pa) and the water solubility (g/m3). Based on the vapour pressure of 119 mPa at 25°C and the water solubility of 1010 mg/l at 20°C, the Henry's law constant was determined with EUSES 2.1.2 to be 0.0202 Pa .m3/mol at 25°C and 0.00965 Pa.m3/mol at the environmental temperature of 12°C. Considering the low value, volatilisation at environmental conditions is expected to be negligible.
