Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In a reliable (RL 1) activated sludge respiration inhibition test according to OECD 209 no statistically significant inhibition of respiration rate was observed for the submission substance. No EC10 or EC50 could be determined and the NOEC (3h, respiration inhibition) is equal or larger than 1000 mg/L nominal concentration.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A Respiration Inhibition Test with activated sludge according to OECD Guideline No. 209 and compliant to GLP (RL 1) was carried out as a limit test at the nominal limit concentration of 1000 mg/L submission substance. The respiration rates of the control, reference and test item replicates were measured after a contact time of three hours. The inhibition of respiration for the test item replicates ranged from -7 % (stimulation) to 4 % and were not statistically significant. Thus, the determined NOEC (3h, respiration inhibition) for the submission substance is equal or larger than 1000 mg/L nominal concentration. The activity of the test system and the test conditions was demonstrated with the reference test item copper (II) sulphate pentahydrate.
