Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In a test on ready biodegradability according to OECD 301B and compliant to GLP, no relevant biodegradation of the test item was observed (3% within 28 days).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

The ready biodegradability of the test item was determined with a non adapted activated sludge over a test period of 28 days in the Modified Sturm Test (according to OECD 301B and compliant to GLP, RL1). The test item was tested at a concentration of 40.0 mg/L in duplicates, corresponding to a carbon content (TOC) of 13.87 mg C/L in the test vessels. To check the activity of the test system, sodium benzoate was used as functional control. The percentage degradation of the functional control reached the pass level of 60 % within 7 days and a biodegradation of 86 % after 28 days. In the toxicity control containing both test and reference item the biodegradation of the reference item was not inhibited by the test item. The biodegradation of the test item did not reach the 10 % level in both test item replicates. The mean biodegradation reached 3 % until day 28.
