Conclusion on classification

Self-classification according to REGULATION (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP):

The substance is not to be classified for acute aquatic hazards since the acute toxicity is >10 to <=100 mg/L.

From acute toxicity data, no chronic hazard category does result because the substance is readily biodegradable and does not bioaccumulate significantly (experimentally determined BCF <= 500).

The only available chronic ecotoxicity data are from the study on freshwater green algae, for which an EC10 (72 h; growth rate) of 45 mg/L had been determined. This value is above the limit for readily degradable substances given in REGULATION (EC) No 1272/2008. Accordingly, no chronic hazard category does result from available long-term data.

Overall, according to REGULATION (EC) No 1272/2008 there are no classification requirements for environmental hazard.

Self-classification according to UN-GHS ST/SG/AC.10/30 /Rev.7 (2017)

Because of E(L)C50-Values between 10 and 100 mg/L, the following acute toxicity classification applies:

o      Aquatic Acute 3

o      H402: Harmful to aquatic life.

For chronic aquatic toxicity, no classification is applicable (see EU-GHS above for details).
