Additional information

Ethylene glycol monopropyl ether is readily biodegradable. It has a log Kow of 0.673 and therefore a low potential to sorb to particulate matter (sludge, soil or sediment) or to bioaccumulate in biota. Ethylene glycol monopropyl ether is water soluble and has a moderate vapor pressure. These properties result in a low potential to volatilize from water to air. When released to wastewater significant mineralization will occur. Emissions to air and binding to sludge will be minor. Ethylene glycol monopropyl ether that reaches surface water will also be mineralized. When released to air, the material will remain in air, with rapid dissipation occurring through advection and photochemical reaction.  When released to soil, the material will be primarily dissolved in soil pore water (groundwater), and will be rapidly be mineralized.
