First-aid measures

General information
Remove contaminated soaked clothing immediately.
In the event of persistent symptoms receive medical treatment.

After inhalation
Move to fresh air in case of accidental inhalation of dust or fumes from overheating or combustion.
In the event of symptoms refer for medical treatment.

After contact with skin
Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water.
In case of irritation consult a physician.

After contact with eyes
Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes.
If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.

After ingestion
Rinse out mouth and give plenty of water to drink.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Consult a physician.
Induce vomiting only upon the advice of a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media
Foam, carbon dioxide (CO2), dry chemical, water-spray.

Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons
Full water jet

Special exposure hazards arriving from substance or preparation itself, combustion products, resulting gases
The substance is combustible and may burn if involved in a fire evolving noxious gases including: Carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx).
Dust may form explosive mixture in air.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters
Use breathing apparatus with independent air supply.
Protective suit

Additional information
Cool containers at risk with water spray jet.
Do not release chemically contaminated water into drains, soil or surface waters. Sufficient measures must be taken to retain water used for extinguishing.
Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:
Do not breathe dust.
Respirator must be worn if exposed to dust.
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Use personal protective clothing.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Remove all sources of ignition.

Environmental precautions
Do not discharge into the drains/surface waters/groundwater

Methods for cleaning up/taking up
Pick up mechanically, avoiding dust, and provide disposal in suitable recipients

Additional information
Dust may form explosive mixture in air.

Handling and storage

Handling
Advice on safe handling
Keep container tightly closed.
Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at machinery and at places where dust can be generated.
Do not breathe dust.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion
Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.
Dust may form explosive mixture in air.
Avoid formation of dust.

Storage
Requirements for storage rooms and vessels
Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, well-ventilated place

Further information on storage conditions
Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls
Occupational exposure controls
Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.

Protective and hygiene measures
Do not inhale dust.
Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product.
When using, do not eat, drink or smoke.
Do not wear contact lenses when handling the product.
Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use.

Respiratory protection
Respirator must be worn if exposed to dust.

Hand protection
Protective gloves resistant to chemicals made off nitrile, Minimum coat thickness 0.4 mm, Permeation resistance (wear duration) approx. 480 minutes. This recommendation refers exclusively to the chemical compatibility and the lab test conforming to EN 374 carried out under lab conditions. Requirements can vary as a function of the use. Therefore it is necessary to adhere additionally to the recommendations given by the manufacturer of protective gloves.

Eye protection
Tightly fitting goggles
Ensure eye wash bottle with pure water is available

Skin protection
Long sleeved clothing.

Stability and reactivity

Conditions to avoid.
To avoid thermal decompostion, do not overheat.
Avoid development of dust.

Hazardous decompostion products.
The substance is combustible and may burn if involved in a fire evolving noxious gases including: Carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx).

Additional information
No decomposition anticipated if stored and applied as directed.

Disposal considerations

Advice on disposal
Can be incinerated, when in compliance with local regulations.
Where possible recycling is preferred to disposal.

Contaminated packaging
Empty containers should be taken for local recycling, recovery or waste disposal.
Contaminated packaging should be emptied as far as possible and after appropriate cleansing may be taken for reuse.
Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of in the same way as the substance.
