Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

With high probability not harmful to aquatic algae, no toxic effects occur at the range of solubility.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In an algae study (exposure during 72 hours) no inhibition of algae growth, expressed as biomass and growth rate was observed at the highest concentration tested (30 mg/L, nominal) (Ciba-Geigy, 1992). The study was performed according to EU-guidelines. Analytical determinations revealed less than 10% of the nominal concentrations at the end of the test period. However, this is not as relevant since the measured concentration was still well above the water solubility of the test item. Thus no toxic effects occured within the range of water solubility.
