Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing gives artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If necessary, get medical aid.
Skin contact: Flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. If necessary, get medical aid.
Eye contact: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower lids. If necessary, get medical aid.
Ingestion: Wash mouth out with water. If necessary, get medical aid.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, chemical powder, carbon dioxide or appropriate foam.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: Adapt to surrounding substances.
Special hazards arising from the substance: Fire may liberate toxic gases and fumes, carbon and nitrogen oxides, hydrogen chloride.
Advice for firefighters: Usual protective equipment, self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Environmental precautions: Prevent large amounts of the substance from entering the environment.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Sweep up leaked material into a plastic container and eventually discard to incineration. Clean up and ventilate place.

Handling and storage

Handling
The substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediates.
Specifically the substance is rigorously contained by technical means during its whole lifecycle; procedural and control technologies are used to minimise emissions and any resulting exposures; only properly trained and authorised personnel handle the substance; special procedures such as purging and washing are applied during cleaning and maintenance works, in cases of accident and where waste is generated, procedural and/or control technologies are used to minimise emissions and the resulting exposures; and substance-handling procedures are well documented and strictly supervised by the site operator.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place. Keep container tightly closed when not in use.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls: Sufficient local ventilation of the workplace. Use of specified protective equipment.
Personal protective equipment:
Respiratory protection: Wear approved respirator.
Eye protection: Wear chemical safety goggles.
Hand protection: Wear chemical-resistant gloves (leather, rubber or plastic).
Skin protection: Suitable work clothes.
Environmental exposure control: Prevent the product from entering the environment, water bodies and sewer system.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No special reactivity has been reported.
Chemical stability: Stable under normal temperature and pressure.
Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon and nitrogen oxides, hydrogen chloride.

Disposal considerations

Waste must be disposed of in accordance with federal, state and local environmental control regulations. Recommended disposal method of the preparation and contaminated packaging: burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber.
Empty containers should be taken for local recycling, recovery or waste disposal.
