Description of key information

The melting point for PPVE is < -80 °C at 1024 hPa (direct observation, OECD 102).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

PPVE did not crystallize or melt by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). After 21.5 hours in storage at -81.8 ± 1.8 °C, it was visually observed that the test substance was a liquid; the melting point of < -80 °C was assigned. The study was conducted in accordance with the OECD 102 method and was GLP compliant; therefore the study is considered reliable without restrictions. Another value for melting point was found in an MSDS. However, due to few details available, it cannot be classified as to its reliability.
