Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

There are no direct data available that address ethoxypropanol sensitization potential. As a chemical category, glycol ethers have not been identified to have sensitizing properties. The parent acetate, ethoxypropyl acetate has been tested and is not a skin sensitizer in the guinea pig maximisation assay. The closely related substance methoxypropanol has also been tested and not found to have any skin sensitising properties.

An extensive justification for read across is contained in the read across justification attached to chapter 13 of this dossier.
