Description of key information

One ready biodegradability tests was available for propylene glycol n-propyl ether. The test was conducted under GLP and according to OECD guidelines 301A.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

Propylene glycol n-propyl ether (PnP) showed 91.5% degradation after 28 days in the OECD Method 301 A DOC (dissolved organic carbon) Die-Away screening test. PnP can be classified as “readily biodegradable” since > 70% degradation was achieved within 10 days of the start of biodegradation.
