First-aid measures

If inhaled: Keep patient calm, take out to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, provide humid oxygen; if not breathing, give artificial respiration.

On skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing, shoes and outfit. Wash thoroughly with plenty of water.

On contact with eyes: Wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open.

Swallowing / On ingestion: clear the oral cavity free of the substance. Rinse mouth and then drink plenty of water.

Fire-fighting measures

General note: the substance is non flammable, it won’t sustain combustion. Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrounding fire.

Suitable extinguishing media: water, foam, dry extinguishing media, carbon dioxide

Special protective equipment: Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information: Dispose of fire debris and contaminated extinguishing water in accordance with official regulations

General advise: Due to exposure to high temperatures, toxic fumes can be formed

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Prevent formation of dust. Use breathing apparatus if exposed to dust/aerosol.

Environmental protection measures: prevent dispersion of dust into the environment. Exclude the entering of the product into waste and soil waters.

Methods for cleaning up or taking up if spilled: sweep/shovel up, collect in dry form into the lockable labeled container for further use or disposing in special area in such a way that there is no spilling out

Correctly dispose of recovered product immediately

Handling and storage

Handling: dust may form when handling. Handling of large amount of the product must be performed by mechanical facilities with closed cab. Production facilities must be equipped with extract-input ventilation. Aspiration hoods must be installed in the area of dust release. The product is recovered and fed back into the production. In the substance processing area eating and food storage are forbidden. Breathing must be protected when large quantities are decanted without local exhaust ventilation.

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

Storage: Keep container tightly closed and dry; store in a cool place

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection: breathing protection if breathable aerosols/dust are formed. Particle filter with low efficiency for solid particles (e.g. EN 143 or 149, Type P1or FFP1)

Hand protection: Suitable chemical resistant safety gloves (EN 374) also with prolonged, direct contact (Recommended: Protective index 6, corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374):

Due to many conditions (e.g. temperature) it must be considered, that the practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in practice may be much shorter than the determined permeation time.

Eye protection: Safety glasses with side-shields (frame goggles) (f.e. EN 166)

General safety and hygiene measures: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Running drinkable water must be supplied to the production facilities. General and local dust-exhaust system must be installed. Storage of foodstuff and eating in the substance processing area are forbidden.

Stability and reactivity

The substance appears to be stable and won’t form toxic compounds if released into atmosphere.

Conditions to avoid: prevent formation of dust aerosol. Avoid extreme temperatures.

Substances to avoid: aluminum powder, calcium hypochlorite, hydrazine, ethylene oxide, peroxides Corrosion to metals: No corrosive effect on metal.

Hazardous reactions/decomposition: The product is stable if stored and handled as prescribed/indicated. There are no hazardous decomposition products.

Disposal considerations

Observe national and local legal requirements
