- JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In accordance with Annex XI, section 2 and OECD guidance document on aquatic toxicity testing of difficult substances and mixtures, the study does not need to be conducted as the study is technically not feasible since Disodium peroxide (n°CAS 1313-60-6) reacts on contact with water and quasi-instantaneously decomposed under aqueous conditions in the environment to form Sodium Hydroxide (n°CAS 1310-73-2). Furthermore, according to REACH Annex X no testing is required if the results of the chemical safety assessment indicates no need to investigate further the effects of the substance and/or relevant degradation products on aquatic organisms. For Sodium Hydroxide, an European Risk Assessment Report already exists and no further testing is necessary on it.
