Description of key information

Biodegradation in water: sediment simulation tesing


The partition coefficient of the substance was determined in a reliable study (Rudio, 1996) where the measured logKow was 2.4. Based on this value, the substance is considered to have low potential for absorption to sediment. Furthermore, direct or indirect release to the sediment compartment is considered highly unlikely.

The test item is considered to be readily biodegradable, but failing the 10-d window, therefore, the performance of a water simulation study is considered as scientifically unjustified.
